This shared journey opened Valina’s eyes to the unseen realities faced by countless dogs across Europe.
It brought her into close contact with veterinarians, NGOs, volunteers, and people who dedicate their lives to helping animals in need.
Today, she combines personal storytelling with documentary clarity — while actively supporting a new vision of animal protection in Romania.
She collaborates with Romanian NGOs, raises awareness for responsible rescue, and highlights the people working toward a more humane and responsible animal welfare system.

Valina lives in Germany with her rescue dog Clotilde — another extraordinary soul who crossed her path.
Valina Aust is a German author whose work is deeply connected to animal welfare, compassion, and the quiet strength that grows from the bond between humans and animals.

Her debut memoir, Nayeli – More Than Just a Survival Story, tells the true story of Bambi — a severely injured Romanian street dog who came to Germany and lived by her side for thirteen years.
